A True Family Business
The Sutcliffe family has been operating in Port Royal, SC since 1955. Our family is dedicated to the community and our goal is to be a trusted and reliable source for cart sales and servicing for the residents of Beaufort and Jasper counties. For 60 years, we have worked hard to earn the business of our customers and will continue to operate with our customers’ best interests in mind for years to come.
The Sutcliffe Brothers first opened their business as a furniture store back in 1955, simply known as Sutcliffe Brothers Furniture. The store, eventually changing its name to Sutcliffe Furniture Co. but still remaining family operated, and enjoyed many successful years serving the community and growing as a business.
In 1989, as Beaufort County continued to rapidly grow, Terry Sutcliffe decided to bring in Yamaha carts to fill a need he saw developing in the community. With the large number of golf courses in the area as well as the community developments that continued to pop up, cart ownership was becoming more common as a means of personal transportation.
Sutcliffe’s continued to operate as a furniture store while their cart inventory remained small but as the business landscape changed and cart sales increased, Terry and his family realized that cart sales and service were ultimately what the residents of Beaufort and Jasper County needed.
While the business may have evolved from furniture to golf cars over the years, what remains the same is that the Sutcliffe family is dedicated to providing the best and most reliable service to the residents in the Beaufort and Jasper County area. Being a trusted business partner and providing peace of mind to customers, knowing that they can always count on the Sutcliffe family for honest and expert service, is what matters most, no matter the business they’re in.
